Orange Bowl Bound

So, Georgia Tech and Iowa were scheduled to play at the Orange Bowl this year in Florida. In case you didn't know, Scott's side of the family are BIG Georgia Tech fans. Michael, Brooke's husband, went to Iowa. When news broke that they would be playing each other, the guys were making plans to go to Florida!

It was a great scenario for a super trip down to Florida. We couldn't have planned it any better!

Michael's brother and sister-in-law, Phillip & Annette, live in Dania Beach and were GREAT hosts! They took great care of us while we were visiting!
(I stole your picture, Pat!)

Also, Michael's mom and dad, Mark & Pat, were in Fort Lauderdale getting away from the cold Illinois weather on their boat. We played dominos on Monday night and Mark took us on a cruise along the intercoastal waterway!
Their sunset view from the dock.
This picture is decieving! It was COLD and WINDY!
Even better, my friends, Amy & Javier, live very close and met us for dinner on their due date! I was very impressed with their adventurous attitude! Not sure if I would be going anywhere on my due date! (FYI: No baby that I have heard of yet!)
A nice father & sons night out! Mark put on his fun football face! (He's not much of a football fan.)We were so proud of him for putting on his gameface!
It was soooo cold! Definitely NOT your typical South Florida weather!
Look who I found! I used to go to high school and was in band with Shana. And, me, Shana and her now-husband worked at Chick-fil-a together during our high school days.

An oldie but a goodie!

Hey Lana! Notice this raincoat! I was going through some old clothes that my sister, Lana, gave me that used to be Blake or Austin's. This raincoat fit Cooper perfectly! I wonder if the Antique Roadshow would be interested in it? Cooper loved it and wore it to the school the next day when it rained!

Merry Christmas about 3 weeks late!

It's been a busy holiday season! So busy, that I haven't had time to update our blog as I would like! I will do my best to catch you up!

On Christmas Eve, I took Caroline to the Urgent Care Center since she was complaining about her ears and throat hurting. Thankfully, I did not blow her off and took her to the doctor. She did not have a high temperature, so I was a little hesitant that it was anything to worry about. On the way there, she did not take up my offer on bubble gum. BIG red flag there! That girl never turns down gum! That's when I really believe that she was hurting! After a wrestling match with the nurse and the strep test, Caroline came back positive. Luckily, it was right at 24 hours before we were going to Brooke & Michael's for Christmas so she would be non-contagious by then!
Leaving cookies for Santa!
Waiting to go downstairs in the morning!
Cooper ripping open presents
Hot Wheels were a big hit this year (next to Thomas, of course!)

After we openeds presents at our house, we drove to Brooke & Michael's to celebrate with the Bliss/Chamberlain family to open our presents between the family.
Caroline waiting to start the mad dash!
Brady really liked his Thomas boots! (Cooper loved his, too!)
Cooper got Spencer! Thanks Gram and Grand-Bob!
Best Buddies
Guess who got an American Girl doll!!!
Caroline got a new, bigger desk from Mommy & Daddy!
The day after Christmas, Caroline, Cooper, myself, Mary-Kate and her parents went to see "Alvin & The Chipmunks - The Squeakuel". (Very cute!)
