Gram & Grand-Bob come for a visit!

We had visitors on Saturday! Gram & Grand-Bob came on Saturday evening. We went out to dinner and opened my early birthday present (Thank you, again!). When Caroline found out that they were coming on Friday morning, she was so excited that she told everyone that she knew on Friday.

Cooper's 1st Birthday Party

Cooper was invited to a Bounce-U birthday party this weekend for one of his friend's from school. If you know Cooper at all, you will know that he loooovvvess a birthday party. He loves to play, eat cake and open presents. By the end, he was sweating!

Let it Snow!

We woke up this morning to a nice white bed of snow! The kids were very excited! Although I had to go into work, Scott stayed home with the kids and had some quality Daddy time with the kids.

I found these conductor overalls at Gymboree by accident this weekend. They have a picture of a train on the front pocket. Cooper fell in love (surprised, huh?) with them and insisted on wearing them home from the mall. They will probably be an issue at day care with using the potty, so they will probably have to be worn only on the weekends. He looked too cute in them this morning, so I had to take a picture.

Cooper is officially a BIG BOY!

As if the day couldn't get any worse, we decided to press our luck and take Cooper to get his haircut. It was getting out of control again and we were ready for the fight at the salon.

When we pull into the parking lot, Cooper instantly knew where we were going and already started protesting his impending haircut. He fought us in the car, parking lot and inside the place. Luckily, no one else was getting their hair cut, so we warned the young, naive girls of what they were about to see. We pulled out some of their germ-infested toys and tried to calm him down.

Then, out of nowhere, Cooper just looked up and said, "Mommy, I want to get a haircut". What? Huh? Calling his bluff, I said OK, let's go. He jumped up on my lap and sat calmly and happily while the girl cut his entire hair!!! Scott and I just kept looking at each other in amazement. We are still kind of miffed as to why he had the sudden change of heart, but will happily accept it.

I told Scott that God knew that we could only take so much in one day. I think He had pity on us and threw us a bone today. :)

Duck Hunting Season comes to a close in a BIG way

Being that today is a Saturday and it is duck hunting season, Scott was out of bed around 4:00 this morning and headed about about 70 miles to Morganton to duck hunt with his friends. This morning started like any other Saturday. I heard him get up, crank the car, pull his boat out of the garage and finally pull out of the driveway. He usually is done hunting and back home by 1:00 that afternoon.

But this morning while the kids and I were eating breakfast and getting ready to go to the Y, I heard the garage door opening downstairs around 9:00. I looked outside to find the car and boat trailer in the driveway. Hmm, funny.

Wait a second, did I just say boat trailer? Where's the boat that should be on that boat trailer, you might ask? How about scattered on 1-40 between Exit 125 and 126?

Apparently, Scott did not have the boat secured down on the trailer and the boat slid off the trailer onto the interstate. By the time he was able to turn around and get back to where the boat was, a brand new F-150 found it first. Luckily and miraculously, no one was hurt. It could have been alot worse for sure. Scott says that he keeps seeing the image of the boat sliding on the highway. Poor thing. The guy lost his best friend today!

Like a good wife, I didn't have to call him an idiot or ask him what the heck he was thinking? He is doing enough of that himself. :)

Luckily, Scott has insurance on the boat. We are still waiting to hear about some kind of loophole that the insurance company will find. Hopefully all will work out. I will keep you posted!

New Year, New Me!

So, I made some 2009 Resolutions for myself. I decided before the holidays that I was going to sign up at our YMCA's Boot Camp. This is an 8 week course of Boot Camp Style workouts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at (this is the kicker) 5:30 AM!!!



I believe Scott thought I had lost my mind, which only gives me more motivation to get up in the morning. I have also met a few girls in the neighborhood and we have started a running group on Sunday mornings to train for some local 5k and 10k's coming up.

I will let you know how I am doing in the upcoming weeks/months.

More Christmas Holiday Adventures

Over the Christmas holidays, the kids and I went to visit my sister, Lana, and her family. We don't see each other as often as we would like so it was alot of fun getting together and letting the kids play with their cousins.

We ate lunch at the Atlanta Bread Co. first, then spent Two-Mama and George's Christmas money at Gamestop buying some Nintendo DS games.

We took the kids to a bounce place on Saturday afternoon. The kids had a blast and were able to get alot of their energy out that day.

Twister Cars

Santa brought the kids Twister cars for Christmas. They have rode them in the house non-stop since that day. These cars can go forward and backward by just twisting the steering wheel. Caroline and Cooper decorated their cars with stickers so they could tell them apart.

I even caught Scott riding one. I am not sure why is wearing the Ove-Glove?

Happy New Year!

I know, I know...I am a little late at wishing my fellow bloggers a Happy New Year! This week has already flown by! We had a great time celebrating the end of 2008 and welcoming 2009. We invited our friends and their children over for New Year's Eve. Gina and Brian brought their Wii that Santa brought for Christmas. The kids had a blast playing it, not to mention the adults. This is the way that I like celebrating New Years. No dressing up, no buying $100 tickets to some lame party, no crowds, no driving, no finding a babysitter, etc.

First, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I apologize for my blog slackness lately. This holiday season was very busy, yet very enjoyable this year! Santa surprised the kids with some great presents! It is so great seeing the excitement in children's eyes.
