One of Caroline's favorite things to do with her Daddy is to go out to the fairway behind our house and hit golf balls. What better golf instructor than Scott, right? As a late birthday present, Scott bought her a set of golf clubs. He made a club for her, but it was too heavy. These seem to be just right. Last night, in between the rainstorms, we went with Caroline to test her new clubs out!

Cooper and I were the ball catchers. Caroline couldn't focus much with us running around behind her. I think next time I will try to keep Cooper occupied at home.

Gymnastics Awards

So tonight turned out to be really great night in the end. Tonight was Caroline's end of year gymnastics awards. It was just a night for the kids to show their parents and family what they have learned over the past year. Since the first time Caroline had heard about it, she has been begging, whining, moaning and groaning that she absolutely DID NOT want to do it. When asked why, she said that she was embarrassed and was scared that she would fall off of the beam. We tried to assure her over the past few weeks that it wasn't a big deal and that no one would laugh or think differently of her if she fell off. Scott and I debated whether to force her to go or just drop it and not make a big deal about it. I am always worried about scarring her for life when it comes to these kind of things. I was always a shy and timid girl and hated any attention brought upon myself. (ie. those stinking piano recitals that I was forced to do!!!)

So, I did what any mother would do and let Scott make the decision. We did bribe her with going out to eat and lots of hugs and assurance! She finally agreed and reluctantly went.

Then they worked on their rolls.

We were so darn proud of Caroline!! I started tearing up when I saw that huge, proud grin on her face when she was through with her routine. She was so proud of herself and beamed from ear to ear. Of course, Cooper steals the show after her dismount letting the entire room know that he needed to potty. That child has only one level. He cracks me up!!

She quickly admitted afterwards that she was glad that she did it. Hopefully, this will give her a big boost of morale!

Happy Memorial Day!!

After all the illnesses and rain, it was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the holiday weekend! Our neighborhood pool opened up this weekend. As soon as the sun broke on Monday morning, Caroline was gearing to go!

Caroline and Mary Kate made a fort with their towels and chairs during one of the rainstorms. I think they enjoyed that more than swimming.

I know! It's about time!

I apologize for my lack of postings latel. It seems like nothing really eventful has been going on and no pictures taken to post.

To catch you up on the kids, about two weeks ago, Cooper developed a high fever for a few days and later got these nasty mouth ulcers on his lips and tongue. He was absolutely pitiful. He just moaned for a week straight and didn't eat much. The pediatrician didn't give him anything and told us that we had to wait it out. Scott took him to our dentist after a few days and the dentist prescribed him some "Magic Mouthwash". And boy, was it "Magic". It was torture for us to get Cooper swish it, but it worked fairly quickly. I am happy announce that he is mouth ulcer free and is back to his happy-go-lucky self!

After a trip to Chuck-E-Cheese on Friday for a birthday party, Caroline woke up with a fever this past Saturday morning. (When Caroline gets a fever, she spikes one quick and high.) We took her to the pediatrician that morning and found it was only viral. (You gotta love it when the doctor tells us that!) We had a camping trip with Scott's family planned for this weekend, so Scott and Cooper went ahead and went since Caroline wasn't going anywhere. Poor thing slept all day on Saturday and starting feeling better that night. She was back to herself by Monday morning. Hopefully, no mouth ulcers will show up on her!

Scott said Cooper had a blast camping and especially loved hanging out with his favorite friend/cousin, Brady. They are like two peas in pod. Below are some pictures that Scott took while they went camping. Scott said that Cooper had a ball. I can't wait to go with him next time.

Cooper went to sleep in the tent with no problem. And to think Scott was worried that he would want his Mommy before nightfall!

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

On Saturday, me and the girls from the neighborhood ran the Susan G. Komen 5k Race. We had a great time, even if it rained a little during our run!

We even snagged a picture with the guest speaker, Hoda Kotb. Very nice lady!

Our Daisy Meeting

Caroline's Daisies group had their meeting like that. The girls had a great time and definitely all slept good that night!

They first picked river rocks from the garden and painted their name on it.

Then, they weeded the picnic area and put their painted stones around it.

I think their favorite part was climbing up the hill where they stashed the weeds.

Next, the planted flowers in the planters and pots around the church.
