Our Little Artist

We were invited to our local art gallery to look at the "Fall into Art" exhibit. Caroline's artwork was chosen out of her class to be on display. The exhibit displayed all of the schools in our county. We were very proud! (Grandma Bliss would be proud, too!)

Daisies

Caroline had her 1st Daisy (Pre-Brownie) meeting last night. This is the first Daisy Troop in our area. The girls had fun doing crafts and telling each other about themselves.

GA Tech/UVA Game

On Saturday afternoon, we headed to Atlanta for the Tech game. The kids had fun at Tech Fest and the adults enjoyed their guilty pleasure - The Varsity. (We can't pass through Atlanta without stopping at The Varsity!)

Tech ended up losing, but it was a good game

Cooper played Caroline's Leapster alot during the game.

Caroline wouldn't smile for the camera at the start of the game.

2nd Cousins Josh & Caroline. They were great buddies this weekend.

On our way back to the car, we tried to get a picture of the kids with Buzz. (We didn't have much luck.)

Our trip to GA

We went to GA last weekend to visit family and go to the GA Tech/UVA game. On Friday, some of Scott's cousins, aunts and uncles came to Sam's house. Neverless, it was a great time seeing all of them! Thanks for Sam and Terry for allowing us to invade their home!

Whenever we come to GA, there is always a specific reason why we are in town. I always get frustrated with I come to Georgia because I never have time to visit everyone that I like. I think I am going to plan a trip in January just for these visits.

Josh and Cooper got a visit from the Tickle Monster

On Saturday, the kids and I went to visit my Uncle Parker and his new wife, Rebecca. They gave me a tour of their house and all of the renovations that they have done. The kids especially loved the playhouse and swingset!

Our visit with Gram & Grand-Bob

Cooper and Grand-Bob sporting their favorite football teams. (Grand-Bob will wise up one of these days!)

Caroline had to get in on the action
Cooper liked the Halloween Beany Baby that Gram gave him
This was the best shot I could get of both kids holding their Halloween goodies

On our way home, the sun was in Cooper's eyes. Guess whose sunglasses he borrowed?

Good Times with Old Friends

One of Scott's good friends from his childhood, Steve, got married this weekend to Tisha. We were able to see alot of friends that we do not get to see as often since we have moved from Morganton. Although it rained that night, the weather didn't damper our fun! Thank you so much to Amy and Scooter for watching the kids that night! They had a really good time! I owe you!
Steve (the groom), Scott and uh, Chip?
Traci, you made my Blog! Congrats! It was great to see you - FINALLY!
Me (holding Becky and Gant's baby), Becky and Amy C.
I think I got my fill of baby for a few more months! So sweet!

Tweetsie Railroad: Season Two

Since the kids had so much fun last year at Tweetsie, we decided to go again.

First stop: Riding the good ol' Tweetsie #12!
Cooper's face when he heard the whistle blow

Sweetpea

Next stop: One of those spinning rides that makes you sick. First let me start by saying that I thought this was one of those rides where I thought YOU controlled how much you wanted to spin. Once we started moving, we all realized that this was not what we wanted. Cooper froze solid and turned white.

Once the attendant stopped the ride early for us, that is when Cooper awoke and started screaming. He was totally not prepared. Bad parenting on our part, I guess. Caroline liked it fine though. (Who knew she was the little dare devil!)

Before we left, Caroline wanted to ride the train one more time. Oddly, Cooper was done riding any contraption and wanted to play with his new trains.

Can you guess what he was saying when I took this picture? "Choo Choo!"

A Great Fall Weekend

We decided to take the kids to the Boone/Blowing Rock area this weekend to enjoy the great fall weather and some of it's attractions. On Saturday, we headed to Grandfather Mountain. Apparently, other people had the same idea in mind. It took us FOREVER to get to the entrance and then drive to the top.
The kids doing their best Panther impression.
I swore that I would never be able to walk across this bridge, especially with my kids. But, I did it! Cooper and Caroline were not afraid, so I tried not to show my fear.

I think the highlight of their day was riding the luggage cart to and from the room.

London Bridge is Falling Down

There is no doubt that Cooper likes to sing. Since he was old enough to jabber, he liked to sing Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle-Twinkle, Wheels on the Bus, etc. Since it is so quiet in the car without Caroline with us on our way to school, Cooper and I have made a tradition to sing every morning.

The other morning on our way to school, Cooper starting singing "London Bridge is Falling Down". I was humming along with him until the end when I about spewed Diet Coke everywhere. At the end of the song, instead of singing "My Fair Lady", Cooper sings it "OLD LADY".

So, here he is - Super Cooper in his skivvies singing "London Bridge". (Please disregard the tone deaf person in the background coaxing him to sing.)

Unfortunately, Cooper is a little camera shy and won't belt it out in public. This is the best I could do.

Date Night with the Hubby

Our YMCA offers "Parents Night Out" one Saturday every month. Scott and I always jump at the opportunity since the kids like going and we know they are in good hands. Plus, where can you find a babysitter for $20 these days!
So cute!

Cute Butt Picture

I just bought a new camera and was trying it out. Cooper's butt was just too cute to pass up!

While the kids were taking a bath, I heard something behind me. Looks like Bandit got thirsty and got locked in the shower after drinking some shower water
