The King is Coming!

Caroline was in the Christmas Play ("A King is Coming to Town") at church this past weekend. The kids practiced alot over the past month and did a great job.
Mary Kate (far left) was very mad when the girls didn't say their part. She pouted on stage for a few songs and then got over it.
It was so cute after the play was over. The church members came around and asked the kids for their autograph. Caroline was so serious when she was signing her name on the back of the program.

Two-Mama and George come to visit

Two-Mama (my mom) and George came to visit us this past weekend. Caroline and Cooper thoroughly enjoyed their visit and missed them when they left. Caroline kept Two-Mama busy playing Go-Fish, Dominos, Memory and I-Spy.

Christmas Card Pictures

This year, I waited until the last possible minute to get our Christmas cards out. It is nearly impossible these days to get a good picture of both kids together. Below are some of the ones that I had to choose from.

Cooper's Christmas Party

Cooper's Preschool had their Annual Gingerbread House Christmas Party. Cooper wasn't very interested in building the gingerbread house and liked eating the snacks and candy more.
Cooper in awe of the plates and plates of CANDY!!!
Of course, he chose blue twislers in the color of Thomas
He was more interested in eating chips than making the house. But Mommy had fun!

It's been a Busy Holiday Season!

The past few weeks have just FLOWN by! I can't keep up with all of the activities that we have been involved in.

Caroline had a Daisy meeting. The girls had lots of fun craft projects. She made a Christmas ornament and a special gift for whomever she selected. She chose Gram to be the recipient of the gift. Gram will get to open it on Christmas.

The first step was blowing kisses in the empty jar
Then she filled it with kisses and wrote messages inside.
On Thursday, Caroline's kindergarten class had their Christmas party. I was able to take time off at work to come help with the party.
Caroline's Handprint Angel
They made a Christmas Tree out of sugar cones, green icing and candy in Kindergarten Kitchen

She made a macoroni wreath!
All of the kids brought a wrapped book and played the "White Elephant Game". Amazing, no one cried! I thought for sure that it would end badly. :)

Revisiting my childhood and a dear friend

The kids and I went to Charlotte last weekend to meet an old friend of mine from junior high. Stephanie and I were great friends in junior high! Just hearing her laugh still cracks me up and brings back tons of fun memories! It was great to see her and meet her beautiful daughter. We have already planned another outing in January!

While we were in Charlotte, I couldn't resist stopping by the house I grew up in and showing Caroline. I had her stand in front of the house for a quick picture.

Happy Birthday Mary!

Monday is one of my favorite people's birthday - Mary! She is the first of our friends to turn another year older. Cooper has a little birthday present for you! Seriously, we hope you have a great birthday and many more to come! We love you!

(Please don't call DSS, Cooper was really showing off his Sponge-Bob band-aid in this picture.)

Trimming the Christmas Tree

To top off our great weekend, we decided to decorate our Christmas tree tonight. With only one ornament casualty, the kids had a great time decorating the tree themselves.
You can tell where Cooper decorating. He must have put 20 ornaments on the same branch. Too cute!

The final product!

Visiting a childhood friend

I have been on a facebook snooping around looking for lost friends or just people who I may know around where I live that is on Facebook. Little did I know, a childhood friend, Lori, from elementary school was only 5 miles from my doorstep! We have been making plans between both of our busy schedules to get our kids together while we catch up. She has a son Caroline's age and another son, 20 months. The kids had a blast playing in the leaves, seeing their horses and playing with their toys. They live on alot of land and have several horses and other animals.
Yes! That is Cooper on a horse. Caroline wouldn't even come around the fence to get near them.

Christmas Parade

Pop and Pat-Pat invited us to go to our local Christmas parade. We beared the cold and camped out just to get a glimpse of Santa Claus.
The parade is starting!

Being my first parade since I was a kid, I found out the new trend is for the floats to throw out candy to all of the kids. Luckily, Pat-Pat was prepared and brought the kids bags for their goodies!

Cooper was having a good time until a kid on a float pegged him in the hand with a piece of candy!

Playing in the Leaves

The cold weather this weekend didn't stop Scott from manual labor and the kids from having a little fun in the leaves.
