Road Trip!!!!

Even though gas prices are at an all-time high, we decided to go ahead and go to the beach again for Memorial Day. The trip to Oak Island was .... unusual to say the least. On Thursday, Scott stopped off at the grocery store and bought some snacks. One of his favorite snacks is dried fruit. This time he bought dried plums home - which are really prunes. Scott and Caroline ate a handful each, which made me a little nervous knowing what prunes can do to someone. (FYI - Fruit Snacks don't come in prune-flavored for a reason!)

Flash forward 24 hours - somewhere in the middle of East BFE and Timbuktu, Caroline is in the backseat groaning like she was in the last stage of labor. After a dozen pit stops in dirty bathrooms across North Carolina, we made it to Oak Island. Needless to say, Scott lost his rights to buying snacks. By the way, Caroline is doing fine and is much more regular!

4 Year Olds Picnic

Last Friday, Caroline's school had their annual 4 year old picnic. Before we headed to the beach, Scott and I came over to the school to enjoy the festivities. The kids had a great time getting rid of a little steam.

The best part - we found a patch of honeysuckle! The smell takes me back to my childhood.

Sleeping Cooper

During my nightly checking in on the kids, this is how I found Cooper sleeping. I am not sure how he was still asleep, but he was snoozing pretty good! It is hard to see from this picture, but his head was about 2" from touching the ground.

Girls' Weekend

My sister, Lana and my niece, McKenzie, came up this weekend from SC for a little girls weekend. Stan and the boys went deep-sea fishing, so it was a good weekend to spoil us girls.

Our first stop - the salon! Caroline and McKenzie both got manicures! Neither one of us brought our cameras, so I don't have any pictures of them there.

Next, it's off to lunch and a little shopping! We did really good and didn't break the bank!

After we got home and had dinner, the girls went upstairs to SPA BLISS.

Caroline called this a "Face Massage" instead of a facial.

The night ended with High School Musical in bed along with milk and cookies. It was a wonderful day!

Thanks for making the trip, Lana! We had a great time!

Cooper had a little accident today, so Scott washed out his underwear and hung them out to dry. I am so proud!

Winston-Salem Warthogs Game

The kids got tickets to go to the Winston Salem Warthogs game for their participation in Wally's Reading Program at their school. We had fun until Cooper lost his cool. He woke up ornery that day and his teacher said he was the same all day, so it was no surprise that he wasn't in the best mood that evening. Caroline had a good time seeing all of her school friends and hanging out with her teacher.

In the end, we had a good night and were glad to go back to the confines of our home.

At least he was happy on the carousel

Cooper kept calling the warthog a "Cow".

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I have had a GREAT Mother's Day! Scott and the kids woke me up to breakfast in bed. Yes, Scott actually cooked bacon, eggs and toast! (Very impressive for a man who claims he can't cook a grilled cheese!) Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to show. It's probably a good thing because Momma ain't very pretty in the morning!

We have lounged around the house all day today and I didn't even feel guilty for once. I went back to sleep after my great breakfast and then took a nap again when the kids too their nap. It was a very good day!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to my Mom, Pat-Pat and Judy. We appreciate everything that you have done for us past, present and future! XXOO

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to Mary and Sally, my first-time-mother friends. I hope your husbands spoiled you rotten! And of course, Happy Mother's Day to all of my other friends and family!

Drew's First Communion

We went to Drew's First Communion on Saturday and went back to Brooke and Michael's for dinner and some good family fun.

No one said he was shy!

One minute he is dressed, the next...Naked Boy! Cooper does not like clothes. When he gets outside, it's like he is allergic to clothes. I literally turned around for a minute and he has ripped all of his clothes off.
The Clampett's are here again!

Tornado Watch 2008

We had a doozie of a storm last night. There were tornado warnings all night long. It was the strangest storm. The sky flashed all night long, but you never heard any thunder or lightening. The wind howled off and on. We ended up waking the kids up and taking them downstairs just in case. (Luckily for us, they slept through it.) We were the fortunate ones - just 1/2 of one of our top-heavy pear trees. A few houses in our area were completely demolished. It's pretty scary when you think about it.

Happy Mother's Day Mrs. Wissing!!

ABC's Good Morning America surprised my friend, Mary's, mother at their home this morning!Emeril knocked on the door to serve her breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. This story is quite touching and makes me thankful to know such a giving and loving family.

7 Years of Wedded "Bliss"

Today is me and Scott's 7th Wedding Anniversary! It is hard to believe that we have been married that long. Unfortunately, we were married before the time of digital cameras, so I could not find a wedding picture digitally. After searching through my pictures, I realized that we don't have many pictures of just the two of us together.

Happy Anniversary, Scott! You are one lucky man! :)

Beach Party!

Caroline had this grand idea to have a beach party in our back yard sandbox today. It really was a beautiful day, so I couldn't tell her no. She came out with her bathing suit on, books to read and some towels. The good mother that I am, I indulged her and put down my gardening gloves and slipped (more like poured) into my bathing suit for a little Mommy and Caroline time.

She's so cool!
Don't worry, she wore lots of sunscreen!

NC Triad Susan G. Komen Race

I wanted to thank all of you (you know who you are) again for donating to the NC Triad Susan G. Komen Foundation. Thanks to you, I was able to raise $850! The event was held in Winston Salem on Saturday. I took a few pictures of all of the people who were participating in the race. It was amazing to see how many people have been affected by breast cancer.
