So, I have been getting bored with my regular walking/jogging routine at the YMCA. So, I have been venturing out lately to some of the various classes that the Y offers. I love Pilates, Yoga, Body Pump and Body Flow classes!
When I got to the Y tonight, I just couldn't bare jogging another day. What was the only class being offered at that time? It's called ZUMBA, which is described as "a latin and hip hop dance class infused for an aerobic interval workout combining fast and slow rhythms". One word describes it for me - AKWARD! I am just not a dancer. Never have been. After today, it is certain that I never will. I couldn't get my arms and legs working at the same time or in any kind of rhythmical motion. I probably looked like this! It was really, really sad! Luckily, I parked myself where there was not a mirror in front of me so I couldn't see myself dance. That probably would have put me over the edge if I had to watch myself for a whole hour!
Luckily, the ladies that were in the glass with me were obviously white, too. It was a nice change of pace, but I think I will stick to Pilates or something that doesn't involve shaking my booty.

Caroline's First Day in Kindergarten
Caroline go straight to her coloring when she came in.
The assistant teacher, Mrs. Smart, with Caroline
Caroline is officially a Kindergartner! Rain and all, we made it to school and gave Caroline hugs and kisses before saying goodbye for the day. Her favorite part: Riding the school bus to the church after school!
It was a bittersweet day. So sad to know that she isn't our little baby anymore, yet so proud to see her grow up! We know she will make us so proud!
I was proud of myself, too. I didn't cry! :)

A trip to the Science Museum
Caroline's school has a staggered start for all of the kindergarteners for the first three days. Therefore, us working Moms have to figure out something to do with our kids for those other two days. Fortunately, another mother and I shared the duties and have split the two days between us.

Today, I took Caroline and Reed to the Science museum in Winston-Salem called SciWorks! This was a huge place and it took all of the day to wander through the maze of rooms. This place was great for the kids. Cooper was at preschool, but would have loved it. They were learning through FUN! I even got a refresher course in Science! We liked it so much, we bought a year membership. This will be a great place for the kids (and me) on those cold, rainy winter Saturdays.

A day at the Lake
Scott is gearing up for duck hunting season and has been piddling around in the garage cleaning his boat and doing whatever it is guys do in the garage. What better day it was today then to take the family out on the boat! Believe it or not, we have never been brave enough to take the kids on the boat - much less together!
We packed our lunch boxes and beach towels and headed to the lake.
Even Bandit got to come along! He loovves riding on the boat, but isn't much of a swimmer!
Cooper loves oranges. Orange Cheetos, Orange Doritos....

Cooper's Birthday Festivities
Although Cooper's birthday is on Sunday, the four of us went out to eat to celebrate on Saturday night since Caroline was going to Pop and Pat-Pat's on Sunday for the week. (Yeah!)
Cooper is officially a "Bliss". He looovved the peanuts!
On Sunday, we met Pop and Pat-Pat in Greensboro for another birthday dinner. (You can't have too many birthday celebrations, right?) Cooper and Scott were playing at the table and Cooper accidentally bit his pacifier in half. I was just telling him last night that once he turned 3 that he didn't need his "Faffie" anymore. Looks like Cooper was given a sign!
Poor Cooper thought he was going with Caroline to Pop & Pat-Pat's
This was his face when he realized he wasn't. Gummy Bears that Pat gave him weren't even helping!
Have fun Caroline! Thank you Pop and Pat-Pat for giving us a break this week!
Thank you Two-Mama & George!

Date Night!
Scott did the unexpected and lined up a babysitter for the night so we could go out on a date last night. We went to dinner and then decided to go see a movie. I seriously don't think we have been to see a movie together since before Caroline was born.
We decided to believe the hype and go see the new Batman move, The Dark Knight. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The plotline went so fast that neither one of us could keep up! We kept looking at each other kind of lost. The only great part of the movie was Heath Ledger. I thought he was great. Scott thought Jack was better as the Joker.
I just don't think movies are what they used to be. They are alot about the special effects and the big names, but don't have much of a storyline.
You know, I sound like an old fart, don't I?

We had a great time with the Wissing clan last week in Florida. We are so glad we joined all of you this year! We hope to go again next summer!
Atlanta Zoo
We decided to start our vacation early and visit Scott's cousin, Sam, and her family on our trek to Florida. While we were there, Sam and Laurie took us to the Atlanta Zoo! We also got to visit with Aunt Nan, Ralph and Vernette on Saturday night. Thanks for the great Southern Hospitality!

The Bliss Meerkats

Wouldn't you know it! POP was at the zoo, too!

Our day wouldn't be complete without riding the choo-choo

Cooper is not so sure about Laurie riding the giraffe with him

Mission Accomplished!
